Calculate Percentage
How to Use
Four percentage operations in one tool. Enter values in any section and click Calculate. Results show the answer with the formula used. Useful for GST calculations, salary hikes, exam scores, discounts, and business math. Percentage calculations are fundamental to income tax slab computation, TDS rates, and depreciation under the IT Act.
CA Tip: Use section 4 (reverse percentage) to extract the base price from a GST-inclusive amount. For example if a bill shows ₹11,800 inclusive of 18% GST, the base price is ₹11,800 ÷ 1.18 = ₹10,000. This is essential for correct GST input tax credit calculations.
Percentage Formulas
X is what % of Y: Answer = (X ÷ Y) × 100
% Change: ((New − Old) ÷ Old) × 100
Reverse %: Original = Final ÷ (1 + % ÷ 100)
Margin vs Markup:
Markup % = Profit ÷ Cost Price × 100
Margin % = Profit ÷ Selling Price × 100
